DULCIMERVILLE's location in Black Mountain, NC, besides being 2 miles off Interstate I-40, is in the Blue Ridge Mountains and near the Smoky Mountains National Park. We are centrally located to people coming from many different directions in the East, South & Midwest.

Nestled in the beautiful Blue Ridge mountains in Black Mountain (near Asheville, NC), the YMCA Blue Ridge Assembly is a conference/retreat center situated on 1,200 acres of woodland beautified by mountain streams, wildflowers, ridges, valleys and spectacular views. It is a Registered National Historic Place with the US Department of the Interior. Begun in 1906 as a YMCA training/conference center, the Assembly has a history of supporting human development in spirit, mind and body, and encourages participation in music and arts. It's a blend of natural beauty, history and modern conference facility.

 

 

DRIVING DIRECTIONS:


Local Directions: YMCA Blue Ridge Assembly is located approximately 14 miles east of Asheville, NC. Follow I-40 E to exit 64-Black Mountain/Montreat and turn south onto Highway 9 at the end of the exit ramp. Proceed .5 mile to the fork in the road and veer right on to Blue Ridge Road. Drive .9 miles and look for the YMCA sign on your left. Turn onto Blue Ridge Assembly drive and proceed to the end of the road and our entrance. Please note, once on our property, the roads are all one-way.

 

North Carolina traveling from Charlotte: Take I-85 S towards Gastonia, and then merge onto US-321 N. It is the Dallas/Gaston College exit 17. Take I-40 W to exit 64-Black Mountain/Montreat, and then turn left onto Highway 9 S at the end of the exit ramp. Follow local directions to YMCA Blue Ridge Assembly.

 

North Carolina Traveling from Raleigh: Take I-40 W to exit 64-Black Mountain/Montreat, and then turn left onto Highway 9 S at the end of the exit ramp. Follow local directions to YMCA Blue Ridge Assembly.

 

South Carolina Traveling from Charleston: Take I-26 W to I-40 E exit 1-A towards Hickory, to exit 64-Black Mountain/Montreat, and then turn right onto Highway 9 S at the end of the exit ramp. Follow local directions to YMCA Blue Ridge Assembly.

 

Alabama Traveling from Mobile: Take I-65 N towards Montgomery, and then take I-85 N towards Atlanta. From this point, follow directions from Atlanta.

 

Florida Traveling from Jacksonville: Follow I-95 N to I-26 W exit 86B towards Columbia. Merge onto I-26 W to I-40 E exit 1-A towards Hickory, to exit 64-Black Mountain/Montreat, and then turn right onto Highway 9 S at the end of the exit ramp. Follow local directions to YMCA Blue Ridge Assembly.

 

Florida Traveling from Gainesville: Take I-10 E to I-95 N exit on left - Riverfront/Intl Airport/Sports Complex. Merge on to I-95 N. From this point follow directions from Jacksonville, Florida.

 

Georgia Traveling from Atlanta: Take I-75 N to exit 103 on left to Greenville I-85 N. From I-85 N take I-26 W towards Asheville. Take I-40 E exit 1-A towards Hickory to exit 64-Black Mountain/Montreat, turn right onto Highway 9 S at the end of the exit ramp. Follow local directions to YMCA Blue Ridge Assembly.

 

Kentucky Traveling from Lexington: Take I-64 E to I-75 S towards Richmond/Knoxville. Take I-275 S towards Asheville. Proceed to exit 3 and merge on to I-640 E. Take the I-40 E exit to Asheville and proceed on I-40 E to exit 64-Black Mountain/Montreat and then follow local directions to YMCA Blue Ridge Assembly.

 

Louisiana Traveling from Shreveport: Take I-20 E towards Birmingham/Atlanta. Follow I-20 E to exit 57 merge on to I-75 N towards Chattanooga/Greenville. Proceed to exit 103 and merge onto I-85 N. From I-85 take I-26 W towards Asheville. Then take I-40 E exit 1-A towards Hickory to exit 64-Black Mountain/Montreat, and then turn right onto Highway 9 S at the end of the exit ramp. Follow local directions to YMCA Blue Ridge Assembly.

 

Louisiana Traveling from Baton Rouge: Take I-10 E towards Bay St. Louis. Follow I-10 E to exit 20 and merge on to I-65 N towards Montgomery. Stay on I-65 N to exit 171 and then merge on to I-85 N. From this point, follow directions from Shreveport, LA.

 

Mississippi Traveling from Jackson: Take I-55 S towards McComb. Merge onto I-20 E via exit # 94 towards Meridian/Hattiesburg. Merge onto I-459 N via exit # 106 toward Gadsden/Atlanta (Birmingham Bypass). Merge onto I-20 E via exit #29 towards Atlanta. Take I-85 N towards Chattanooga/Greenville. Take I-26 W to I-40 E exit 1-A towards Hickory, to exit 64-Black Mountain/Montreat, and then turn right onto Highway 9 S at the end of the exit ramp. Follow local directions to YMCA Blue Ridge Assembly

 

Tennessee Traveling from Knoxville: Take I-40 E to exit 64-Black Mountain/Montreat, and then turn right onto Highway 9 S at the end of the exit ramp. Follow local directions to YMCA Blue Ridge Assembly.

 

Virginia Traveling from Richmond: Take I-95 S/I-64 E ramp towards Petersburg/Norfolk. Merge onto turnpike, which becomes I-95 S. Take exit 51 to I-85 S towards Durham/Atlanta. Take exit 123 on to I-40 W/220 S towards Winston-Salem. Merge onto I-40 W. Take exit 64-Black Mountain/Montreat and turn left onto Highway 9 South, at the end of the exit ramp. Follow local directions to YMCA Blue Ridge Assembly.

 

Virginia Traveling from Roanoke: Take I-581/US-220 N towards Lexington/Salem. Merge onto I-81 S towards Bristol. Take exit 81 to I-77 S towards Charlotte. Stay on I-77 S to exit 51-B towards Hickory- Merge on to I-40 W. Take exit 64-Black Mountain/Montreat and turn left on to Highway 9 S at the end of the exit ramp. Follow local directions to YMCA Blue Ridge Assembly.

TRAVEL BY AIR:

Asheville/Hendersonville (NC) Regional Airport is approximately 47 minutes (42.3 mi.) drive (I-26 W to I-40 E to Exit 64 in Black Mountain). Other airports: Greenville SC, and Charlotte-Douglas International are all within 100 miles of Blue Ridge Assembly.
